Technical Artist - TT Odyssey - Brighton

Pre-Visualisation Artist - Traveller's Tales

Senior QA Representative - Playdemic

As a Quality Assurance Representative, you will be responsible for the functional testing of our games in a very fast-paced environment. The role requires flexibility, the ability to multitask and a high level of personal organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual looking to develop a career in the games industry.

You will be responsible for performing QA tests on Playdemic games in beta stage first, then on weekly updates. You will be reporting all bugs found in a clear and accurate manner, and running regression tests. 

Working in collaboration with the QA Lead and game General Managers, you will need to ensure all tests are performed within given timeframes and provide daily feedback. You will also be investigating and reproducing bugs escalated by Customer Support, and providing help when required.

We are looking for individuals who love to play video games - ideally on mobile platforms - and believe in quality assurance. You must have a keen eye for detail, great work ethics, excellent verbal/written communication skills and the ability to work in an agile, team-oriented environment.

We are also keen to ensure that our games are fully translated into the major worldwide languages and as such, English speaking candidates whose native language is one of our major markets would be well suited to this role.

HR & Payroll Assistant - Tt Games

Tt Games are currently looking to recruit a HR & Payroll Assistant to join the HR team on a 6-9 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.  This position will be based at our Knutsford studio with regular travel to Wilmslow.

As part of a small team, this role is responsible for providing proactive, generalist HR administration and employee support across the entire employment cycle. Liaising with our payroll and benefits teams and dealing directly with employees for all queries related to terms and conditions of employment and benefits, this a high volume administrative workload, coupled with full first point of contact responsibility for c.700 employees.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures the monthly payroll submission and all related administration is completed on time and to exceptionally high standards of accuracy, generating a spreadsheet and full audit trail for approx. 1,000 lines of data per month.
  • Deals directly with employees, providing a first point of contact for all admin and benefits queries and ensures issues are followed up and resolved appropriately.
  • Manages all new starter paperwork including: generating and issuing full offer packs, including letters, contracts of employment and enclosures, ensuring a full audit trail is in place for each hire; checking and ensuring records are kept of all right to work documentation, highlighting any issues; requesting, chasing and reviewing references, escalating any issues; sending weekly starters, leavers and fixed term extension emails to the business; updating internal IT systems to ensure new joiners are productive from day one.
  • Promptly and accurately processing leavers, generating leavers letters, arranging and conducting exit interviews, pursuing overpayments.
  • Accurate and proactive ownership of employee data in all formats including paper files; Workday records; spreadsheets; online systems (time and attendance). Updating, archiving and reporting on employee data.
  • Manages the full compliance process including logging and chasing the return of policy declarations, reviewing the health and safety compulsory training attendances and escalating any issues.
  • Generates all changes to terms, letters and system updates, including changes to terms and conditions of employment, flexible working, leaves of absence and so on.
  • Escalating to the HR Advisor and/or HR Director any employee relations matters, data discrepancies or potential concerns you become aware of in the role.
  • Assisting the wider HR team with coordination of cyclical HR projects such as salary reviews.
  • Proactively identifying areas of improvement within the administration processes.
  • Presents new starters inductions as needed.
  • Liaising with external service partners to ensure the processing of correct employee data, communicating any changes to this data within agreed time scales and ensuring the prompt payment of invoices. Raising and escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Processing benefit information and applications promptly; working with the UK benefits team to ensure the submission of all appropriate forms, accurate recording of employee data and timely checking of monthly benefit reports.
  • Keep track of all fixed term contractor end dates, ensuring timely processing of extensions or termination.
  • Administer the probationary period process, creating confirmation letters and where necessary, extensions. Follow up with line mangers during the employee’s probationary period and advise managers on timing and the review process. Escalating issues to the HR Advisor and/or HR Director as appropriate.
  • Keep a track of employees’ entitlement to company sick pay and inform payroll of anyone who has exhausted sick pay and should be put on statutory sick pay. Ensure employees are sent prompt communication regarding the expiration of company or statutory sick pay prior to this occurring.
  • Set up and maintain intranet records for all employees, closing records when people leave the business.
  • Compile headcount, absence and attendance data; manage the online hours and overtime process.
  • Providing support to the Recruiter with the administration and coordination of the recruitment process

Selection Criteria

Relevant Previous Work Experience

  • Proven experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Can quickly gain a full working knowledge of our HR policies, benefits and procedures, including business practices such as time and attendance, in order to advise employees appropriately with queries.
  • Previous HR admin and payroll experience within a busy HR environment desirable.
  • Experience working with HRIS such as Workday preferable.

Design Co-ordinator - Traveller's Tales

Lead Construction Artist - TT Fusion

Tools Programming Apprenticeship - Traveller's Tales

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To undertake a development programme leading to a National Vocational Qualification as part of an apprenticeship.
  • Implement unit tests of our technology and game code.
  • This would lead to writing the sample code that Junior Programmers elsewhere in the company would use to learn how to program our engine.
  • This would expand to building out our automated testing infrastructure, to improve the quality of our engine and editor releases.
  • The languages they would learn and become involved with are C#, C++ and scripting languages such as PowerShell.

We are looking for a Senior Programmer to join our Game Technology team in Wilmslow. The Game Technology team is part of the Engine Room Department, and is responsible for creating and maintaining the nuts and bolts that glue our award winning games together.

You will be working with every platform conceivable, from hand-held devices, through desktop computers to consoles both current and next generation. Because of this, you will be using a wide variety of development environments and programming languages and tackling technical challenges of every sort. No day will be the same, and you won't be bored!

During your day you will be working with all the internal development departments in Traveller's Tales: the game programmers, the low level renderer programmers, the artists and designers who produce the amazing content that makes our games alive, the production team who manage the process and the publishers who get our games out to the public. Finally, but not least, you will liaise with the platform holders to resolve technical challenges and overcome any submission problems that come with the fast pace of the console and hand held market.

You will be expected to get involved with all aspects of the Traveller's Tales code base to ensure each programming department works effectively together. For that reason, you will need to have experience with working with large code bases and be able to understand other people's code quickly. Particular areas of expertise would be helpful in rendering, tools, networking/online, resource management, console platform compliance (TRC) and level streaming.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable games industry experience including several shipped titles.

We’re looking for bright, talented & motivated people to join our Game Mechanics department on an 18 month contract basis. We have a variety of positions from front line development to lower level system work based at either our Knutsford or Wilmslow offices, both at senior and non senior programmer levels. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain some invaluable experience as we restructure our underlying game engine, whilst working on AAA game titles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and understand the game design documents in order to define the required functionalities and the game system that must be developed.
  • Comply with all coding standards, ensuring the creation of high quality, performance-minded coded.
  • Maintenance of existing game mechanics.
  • Fixing issues on the Jira database as directed.
  • Liaising with Artists to provide assistance in the use of technology.
  • Document and clarify requests of Artists for new technology and improvements to existing technology.
  • Understand the concepts of the LED editor system that forms the basis of existing and future game mechanics.
  • Clarify the design of new game mechanics with Associate Lead / Head Programmer to ensure consistency.
  • Exploration of new practices to continually improve the quality of game development.
  • Provide time estimates for non-trivial Jira issues.
  • Implement gameplay for non-standard game mechanics and levels, including game bosses.
  • Document new systems on Wiki.
  • Produce and maintain editors based on the LED system.
  • Undertake relevant on-the-job training where required and keep up to date with industry advancements and technologies.
  • Mentoring Programmers and Junior Programmers with direction from Lead Programmer.
  • Advise leads on matters relating to ensuring that cross team systems address the needs of the end users.
  • Develop an understanding of existing systems, and their current code structure

Skills  & Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or related subject.
  • Fluent in C++ and object oriented programming.
  • Demonstrates dependability and commitments to projects / tasks.
  • Ability to think creatively to solve coding problems.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to adapt with change.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

Simulation Programmer - Traveller's Tales

Traveller's Tales consistently produces BAFTA award winning AAA game titles, selling well over 200 million copies to date across all the major formats. But underpinning the success of the LEGO franchise is our cutting-edge and propriety in-house game engine that's constantly evolving to meet the ever increasing demands and challenges of the next generation of consoles.

We're seeking a talented and enthusiastic programmer to join our Simulation team, who research and develop the novel and cross platform Physics, A.I., Vehicle, I.K and Animation technologies that will power the next wave of TT adventures. This role offers a rare and exciting opportunity to work on a variety of system while also focusing on a particular discipline of interest.

We are ideally looking for a mid-level programmer, however we will consider applications from strong junior programmers and this will be a permanent position.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A good degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or related subject.
  • Demonstrably fluent in Object Oriented  C++ with strong debugging and documentation skills.
  • A passion for games and solving the technical problems they present.
  • Strong maths skills (linear algebra, trigonometry, 3d geometry, quaternions).
  • A highly motivated team-player with the ability to dive in, understand code and learn quickly.
  • Knowledge and experience with either Vehicle simulation/ Physics engines / AI algorithms and middleware / Procedural Animation or IK systems.
