Playdemic are looking for a User Acquisition Exec to set up and deliver our online advertising campaigns, attracting high-quality users to our free-to-play mobile hit game Golf Clash.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of running KPI-based advertising campaigns with a focus on statistical analysis.

You will report into the Head of User Acquisition and work closely with the Analytics team, implementing advertising campaigns across media channels such as Google Adwords, Snapchat, Twitter and video ad networks.
Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to progress in the advertising and mobile gaming industry with one of the region’s fastest growing companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and setup of mobile ad campaigns on a variety of media channels.
  • Ongoing monitoring and optimisation of ad performance KPIs based on creative/audience targeting/ad partner selection using ad buying and bid management software.
  • Conduct data analysis and work with the Analytics team to determine value of acquisition efforts and optimisations.
  • Developing new creative concepts and ad copy that will engage and acquire new players.
  • Working with external attribution providers to ensure all campaigns are successfully tracked.
  • Liaising closely with external ad suppliers to ensure campaign KPIs are being met.
  • Full reporting of results where necessary.

Core Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of running mobile ad campaigns measuring against downstream performance metrics.

Character Rigger - Traveller's Tales

Traveller’s Tales are looking for a Character Rigger to join our Character Rigging Team. This will be a 12 month fixed term contract based in Knutsford. We welcome applications from experienced Riggers and are also happy to hear from recent graduates. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within the highly successful and creative Animation department supporting animators and producing high quality rigs and tools.

The ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate their skills and experience in the following:

  • Creating control rigs for a wide variety of characters, creatures, and vehicles.
  • In-depth knowledge, and technically proficient, in using Autodesk Maya is a must.
  • Experienced in writing scripts, preferably with Python, to automate processes and support the animation pipeline.
  • Able to liaise with the Lead Character Rigger, other technical support staff, and animators in trouble shooting and development.
  • Show a sound understanding of animation principles and processes.

IT Apprentice - Traveller's Tales

An opportunity has arisen for an IT Apprentice to be responsible for general first line support tasks (call logging, troubleshooting / diagnosis, and resolution or escalation); assembling and maintaining PC’s; creating and maintaining documentation for both the systems support team and end users.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • First line support (logging calls, troubleshooting / diagnosis, and resolution or escalation).
  • PC assembly and imaging.
  • PC maintenance (adding/removing apps, correcting faults, updating drivers/firmware, etc).
  • Setup, update and fault diagnosis of console platforms (e.g. Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Wii-U, PS Vita, 3DS).
  • Transferring licenses between machines as projects change and people move between tasks, ensuring that license documents are kept up to date.
  • General network support and basic troubleshooting (e.g. patching, replacing switches, etc).
  • Creation and maintenance of domain and server login accounts, email accounts, mail distribution lists, and any other related aspects as required.
  • Creating and maintaining all relevant documentation for systems and for consumers of IT support services, for example, to include but not limited to IP address register, equipment register, setup / standard docs, FAQ’s, how-to’s.
  • Auditing of systems for suitability for task, license monitoring, any other related aspects as required.
  • Liaising with other team members to ensure that potential issues are raised and dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Any ad-hoc IT duties that may be required to provide an effective and efficient service.

Skills / Qualifications:

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C+ (including Maths)
  • Computing related college qualification (if appropriate)
  • A-Levels (Computing, Maths, Business Studies - if appropriate)

Training to be provided:

The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive ten weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Standard with training in areas such as:

  • Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
  • PC Fundamentals & Customer Service Skills
  • Business Processes & Network Fundamentals
  • Cloud Services
  • Coding & Logic
  • ERR 
  • Networking and Architecture

Traveller's Tales are looking for a 'Junior Render Tech Programmer' to join our Render-Tech team in Wilmslow on a fixed term contract.

The successful candidate will work in close partnership with our game development teams, developing and supporting the feature set of our rendering engine to meet the specific needs of our games, and will be well positioned to directly influence the quality of our games and the productivity of our teams. Senior QA Representative - Playdemic

As a Quality Assurance Representative, you will be responsible for the functional testing of our games in a very fast-paced environment. The role requires flexibility, the ability to multitask and a high level of personal organisation. You will be responsible for performing QA tests on Playdemic games in beta stage first, then on weekly updates. You will be reporting all bugs found in a clear and accurate manner, and running regression tests. 

Working in collaboration with the QA Lead and game General Managers, you will need to ensure all tests are performed within given timeframes and provide daily feedback. You will also be investigating and reproducing bugs escalated by Customer Support, and providing help when required.

We are looking for individuals who love to play video games - ideally on mobile platforms - and believe in quality assurance. You must have a keen eye for detail, great work ethics, excellent verbal/written communication skills and the ability to work in an agile, team-oriented environment.

We are also keen to ensure that our games are fully translated into the major worldwide languages and as such, English speaking candidates whose native language is one of our major markets would be well suited to this role.

Lead Construction Artist - TT Fusion

We are currently seeking to recruit a Lead Construction Artist to join our LEGO Integration team in Wilmslow.

Main Responsibilities:

Level specific

  • Leading level reviews alongside the Head Of LEGO Integration, feeding back on interactive assets, puzzles and set piece implementation, with a view to help a level improve & flourish.
  • The design, construction, rigging and animation of level specific, set-piece & incidental LEGO game assets as required / specified by Game and/or Level Director.
  • Setup/triggering of level specific LEGO game assets and level/puzzle flow via in-house editors.

General

  • Assisting in driving forward nTT tech, working with Game Mechanics, Game Technology and Tool Programmers, providing feedback on new tools, systems and mechanics.
  • Provide coaching to Senior Level Construction Artists, Level Construction Artists and Junior Level Construction Artists where appropriate.
  • Setup and maintenance of level cameras both 1 and 2 player cameras.
  • Layout of level geometry based on design documentation and direction provided by the assigned Level Director.
  • Optimisation of level specific LEGO Game assets and LODing where required across platforms.
  • Undertake relevant on-the-job training where required and keep up-to-date with industry advancements and technologies.

Line Management Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and ensuring that all employee relations matters (including absence, performance and conduct) are dealt with in line with Company policies and procedures and in liaison with Human Resources.

Game Technology Programmer - Traveller's Tales

We are looking for a Programmer to join our Game Technology team in Wilmslow. The Game Technology team is part of the Engine Room Department, and is responsible for creating and maintaining the nuts and bolts that glue our award winning games together.

You will be working with every platform conceivable, from hand-held devices, through desktop computers to consoles both current and next generation. Because of this, you will be using a wide variety of development environments and programming languages and tackling technical challenges of every sort. No day will be the same, and you won't be bored!

During your day you will be working with all the internal development departments in Traveller's Tales: the game programmers, the low level renderer programmers, the artists and designers who produce the amazing content that makes our games alive, the production team who manage the process and the publishers who get our games out to the public. Finally, but not least, you will liaise with the platform holders to resolve technical challenges and overcome any submission problems that come with the fast pace of the console and hand held market.

You will be expected to get involved with all aspects of the Traveller's Tales code base to ensure each programming department works effectively together. For that reason, you will need to have experience with working with large code bases and be able to understand other people's code quickly. Particular areas of expertise would be helpful in rendering, tools, networking/online, resource management, console platform compliance (TRC) and level streaming.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable games industry experience including several shipped titles.
  • Ability to think creatively to solve complex coding problems.
  • A good degree in Computer Science, Math or Physics or related subject (2.i or above) or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in C++ and object oriented programming.
  • A structured approach to programming with the desire to write clean, well commented, documented and maintainable code.
  • A focus developing robust and stable code, while maximising re-use.
  • A positive can do attitude coupled with the ability to get things done.

A strong candidate will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience programming consoles at a low-level on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PC or MacOS.
